Shopping - Where to Shop In & Around Atlanta

Atlanta is a shopper's paradise - not just because you can find some of the largest shopping malls the southeast has to offer but also smaller boutiques that can offer unique, personalized items. For high-end shopping, you might be directed to Buckhead and with good reason. This extremely fashionable neighborhood boasts of upscale shopping malls such as Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. Bennett Street is in the same district and will attract you with its many warehouses of wonderful art, accessories and antiques. Not surprisingly, with such easy access to upscale shopping, many Atlanta luxury hotels are located in this area. Downtown, Underground Atlanta is another cool place to shop while the suburbs also have many well-known, homegrown establishments close to Atlanta 5 star hotels.

Lenox Square: Lenox Square is located in the well-known Buckhead area of Atlanta, between State Highway 400 and I-85 and at the corner of Lenox Road and Peachtree. Featuring nearly 250 specialty stores, this is not just a premier shopping destination for Atlanta but for the entire Southeast. With big names such as Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Neiman Marcus having stores in this mall, other shops that have a presence here are Calvin Klein, Louis Vitton, Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Burberry and more.

Phipps Plaza: The prestigious Buckhead area of Atlanta is home to another premier shopping destination, Phipps Plaza. This is again located at the intersection of Lenox Roads and Peachtree. Featuring nearly 100 specialty stores, this shopping center is home to Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Juicy Couture and Jimmy Choo. Other attractions at Phipps Plaza include a 14-screen AMC theatre, a wonderfully diverse food court and not just one or two, but four full service restaurants.

Underground Atlanta: Located at 50 Upper Alabama Street, Underground Atlanta is in the heart of downtown Atlanta, close to most Atlanta downtown hotels. In addition to being a hot shopping center, Underground Atlanta is bustling with various kinds of activities, by day and night. You can enjoy homemade candy or delicious dining, caricature drawings or entertainment by the residents of Atlanta. You could also join one of the guided history tours that start from Underground Atlanta. Some of the restaurants and clubs in Kenny's Alley close to boutique hotels downtown Atlanta offer wonderful entertainment in the late evenings.

Northlake Mall: A byword for designer jewelry and hip fashions, Northlake Mall is located roughly 12 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta and is just off I-285 - use Exit 37, LaVista Road. Featuring more than 100 brand names such as Sears, Macy's, JCPenney and Kohl's, Northlake Mall will cover almost all your shopping needs.

Perimeter Mall: The Perimeter Mall is located at 4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Suite 1360 and offers one of the most relaxing shopping experiences to be found anywhere in Atlanta. Though there are more than 200 specialty stores and services including Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Dillard's and many more, the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable allowing you to indulge in some leisurely upscale shopping or have a lovely dining experience at any of the mall's six signature restaurants.
